IN SHORT: The judiciary has denied rumours that it has sacked Rivers state’s sole administrator and ordered Nigeria’s president to reinstate the suspended governor.
Tinubu suspended Fubara, his deputy and state lawmakers after declaring a six-month state of emergency to address a political crisis in the state.
The crisis stemmed from a feud between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is now minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
The president then appointed and swore in retired vice admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as the sole administrator of the state in March 2025.
One Facebook post reads: “BREAKING 💔💔Court Sacks Ibas as Rivers Sole Administrator, Orders Tinubu to Reinstate Fubara.”..
